2021 Covid Vaccination Discussion
Many people are talking Covid Vaccination. It will be a topic in 2021 for many many people.
It is really important to confirm our roles as practitioners. We are here to educate and support your decision to vaccinate or not to vaccinate. Sadly it is a topic that has become very divisional. It is an amazing topic and when discussed openly can make for a really interesting conversation. Everyone has different views and different ideas about the COVID vaccinations and that is very normal.
Sadly when it comes to vaccinating it is a decision often made with fear. Fear of not having it and fear of having it. There is a choice to do it or not do it or to wait and watch. Regardless of your view on the vaccine, there is likely to be extreme pressure put on people to have it. A recent example is the Qantas ‘no jab no fly policy,’ or for some the consequences of 'no jab no job.' Many people are likely to be vaccinated so they can get on with life’s pleasures like visiting family overseas, visiting relatives in nursing homes or for work. If concerned wait and watch until more unfolds about each of the vaccines.
At the end of February all the Possum Hollow practitioners will be doing a webinar to help us help you if you choose to vaccinate. The aim of this webinar for us is to gain knowledge available of the upcoming suggested vaccines including:
- Understand the different vaccine technologies currently being studied for COVID-19
- Gain the knowledge needed to address patient concerns
- Appreciate the need to respect patient autonomy and provide holistic care to the individual
- Learn how to safely use selected natural medicines alongside the administration of vaccines
- Understand how natural medicines can enhance clinical outcomes
- IGG testing pre vaccine to make sure if exposure to covid already may rule you out of vaccine. Or is it safe to vaccinate after infection exposure
- Pregnancy and safety of vaccine. Will sperm and egg be effected for people intending to have children in the future.
Consequently, there exists much confusion on COVID vaccination.
We in no way can make vaccine decisions for you. I will try to include updates in each newsletter as more information unfolds on the different vaccinations taking into account we may not have a choice of which vaccination we are given. Hopefully we get a choice. Hopefully people's personal decisions are respected. We respect your decision and are here to help. As with all our client/consultation interactions, this decision will be treated with complete confidentiality.
I really hope people respect their friends, families and colleagues decisions on this too so it does not become more devisive. Vaccinating is a very personal decision.
